Finding that different situations require varied approaches to connect in a positive manner, I have combined techniques taught by clinicians such as Buck Brannerman, Linda Tellington-Jones, and many others to achieve progress with horses that have issues with trust, confidence, and aggression. I love to bring a horse into my facility and watch the transformation start within a few days, from whatever the vice is, into a soft-minded confident horse ready to take on anything.
I always stay open-minded and positive when dealing with whatever may come with my next challenge, but sometimes there are situations that cannot be changed. With that in mind, I try to rehabilitate the horse to the best of its ability, keeping in mind every day is a learning process for that animal to ingrain that corrected behavior into its life permanently.
I love hearing that a person has taken a horse somewhere and the trainer said, "It can't be fixed." If I can access the behavior and determine that it is learned and not a physical or neurological issue, I can usually find a way to correct it.
